| Practitioner Essay / Case Study | Evidence-based insights, professional narratives, or detailed case analyses demonstrating the application of wisdom/intelligence in real-world settings (e.g., business, policy, education). | Editorial Review Only (non-peer-reviewed). | 2,500 – 4,000 words |
1.2 Manuscript Preparation
- File Format: Submissions should be in Microsoft Word (.docx) or LaTeX (.tex) format.
- Language: English (US or UK consistency preferred).
- Citation Style: All manuscripts must use the APA 7th Edition citation and referencing style.
- Originality: Manuscripts must be original and not concurrently under review elsewhere (see Section 5 for secondary submissions).
- Blind Review: For Research Articles, ensure your identity is removed from the manuscript file and properties before submission.
2. Review and Publication Steps
2.1 Peer-Reviewed Research Articles
- Initial Editorial Screening (Dual Review): The Editor-in-Chief and a second Editorial Team member assess the scope, originality (including AI check), and adherence to ethical standards.
- Double-Blind Review: The manuscript is sent to at least two external experts.
- Decision: Decisions are Accept, Major Revision, Minor Revision, or Reject.
- Finalization: Post-revision acceptance, copyediting, and proofreading.
2.2 Practitioner Essays / Case Studies
- Editorial Review: The manuscript is reviewed by a Section Editor for clarity, practical relevance, tone, and factual accuracy.
- Revision/Acceptance: Feedback is provided for necessary revisions before acceptance for publication.
3. Open Access, Fees, and Archiving
JPIW operates on a Platinum Open Access model, ensuring maximum global reach with no financial barriers.
- Article Processing Charges (APCs): NO fees are charged to authors.
- Subscription Fees: NO fees are charged to readers.
- Long-Term Archiving Assurance: We guarantee the perpetual availability of your work. JPIW deposits its content with the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), a free service that ensures the long-term digital preservation and integrity of the scholarly record.
4. Licensing and Reuse Rights (CC BY 4.0)
Authors retain the copyright to their work without restrictions.
To maximize the impact of your research, all content is published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).
This license requires users to:
- Attribute the original authors (you) and JPIW.
This highly permissive license allows anyone to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts, or use them for any other lawful purpose, including commercial use, provided they give appropriate credit.
5. Secondary Submission and Republishing Policy
Because JPIW uses the CC BY 4.0 license and authors retain copyright, we permit the submission of content that has previously appeared in a different format, provided the author adheres to the following rules:
- Full Disclosure is Mandatory: The submission must clearly disclose the original publication source (e.g., “This article is an expanded and peer-reviewed version of a paper presented at the 2023 [Conference Name]”).
- Substantial New Material: The JPIW submission must represent a substantial expansion or significant addition of new analysis, data, or theoretical grounding. This is required because the article, after peer review, must represent a new, non-redundant contribution to the permanent scholarly record.
- Citation: The original source must be properly and explicitly cited in the manuscript’s first footnote or in the Acknowledgements section.
